To any parent whose child breaks out and looks like they have burns all over, try changing the sunscreen. Last weekend the baby ended up with these almost burn marks over her legs and arms, I had no idea why, but told them at daycare on Tuesday I was aware of them and to just keep an eye out. The lady told me that the coppertone baby sunscreen did this to her son, to try the coppertone sport. We did this weekend and it worked great!! Thanks to Miss Kris Ann for saving her from these welts again!!

We went to South Carolina this weekend again. At 6 o’clock this was the status of our car… The 7 year old out cold (summer camp is definitely doing its job) and the 16 month old chewing her feet watching a movie since she refused to fall asleep!!

On another note, the 16 month old woke up on Saturday morning and had suddenly become a 2 year old with her temper tantrums. Can I please have my sweet baby back??

Bike riding!

After probably 2-3 years of trying to get her to ride a bike, buying her new ones because she grew out of her old, and almost forcing riding the bike on her, we gave up on her!

However, when she was here for the weekend, she got embarassed that her friends could ride and she couldnt. So she asked daddy to help her, and she whined and cried that she couldn’t do it, but she kept on! This was her on Saturday riding by herself. Training wheels are still on because she’s scared of the fall, but at least we have progress.

I hate to be mean to her about it, but such a big part of my childhood was being able to ride off on my bike with my friends. Even if I wasn’t allowed to go far, we had a park and some trails we rode on. Only concern I have is the fact that SC and GA don’t feel the need to have sidewalks. Why? This requires my kids to walk in the street. Sounds pretty stupid to me…

Anyways, YAY! For Katlyn!!

So after almost 2 years on the market, a kitchen remodel, trying to keep the house clean with 2 kids (and my messy self-my nickname growing up was messy essy Jessie and I still hold that with pride), painting almost every room, having to leave the house at 8 o’clock at night with my half asleep baby because people want to show the house, and now needing a new ac/ heat pump unit, we are taking the house off the market!!!

It sucks and its nice…. Really we wanted to move to somewhere that the kids could play outside and daisy would have some place to run around. We wanted to move somewhere with a better layout for a 14 month old to be walking around, where each of the girls could have their own room and just more space in general. But with all the repairs, the way the economy is, realistically we can’t afford it. We can’t afford a rent of 1200$ a month which is what they’re going for in our area. It’s too hard to go buy another house not knowing where mike and I will be with our jobs in the next couple of years and we just have to face up to it.

It’s not the worst thing that could happen, we’ve ABOUT fixed all the problems we see in this house (that we can fix) and we don’t want to move the girls around too much!

So, well figure out how to cover the new unit and we will have to be tighter on budget, but we will make it, together, as a family, as we always do!! Goodbye vacation 2013, 2014 and who knows how much longer….

Chloe has been sleeping without her bobo at nap time at school, however not at home. Last night though, that all changed…. She slept the WHOLE night without it and didnt even put up a fight! I’m a very proud mama! My mother in law thinks I’m taking it from her too early, but I am bound and determined that she doesn’t need it. She solely uses it to chew and she will hand it to me without a problem, so I will continue to not give it to her. Sometimes you just have to make a decision and be confident you know what’s best for your children!!

She is ridiculously cute… Which also means her temper...

There is one major event to post in our household…. I am on a mission to take away Chloe’s bobo (binky, paci, etc.)!!! For this child, it will not be an easy task as she is hard headed, determined, strong willed and will cry non stop, kick, scream, punch to get it. But mama has been staying strong, dealing with crying a lot. The key is, I know she doesn’t need it. She just plays with it and all I need is her to not talk because she won’t ever let go of her bobo. So…. Nap time and night time! That’s it! Wish us luck that she gets over it in the next couple of days!!!

Happy Easter!

Talk about terrible 2’s… I think both kids are going through that! Needless to say the weekend was chaotic but good! I don’t know what it is, but Katlyn sure does forget her manners, how to have manners, respect anyone, etc. when she is at her moms. It drives us mad to get her back and have to fight for 3 days with her until she finally minds her manners again. Back talking, bossing around, whining like a baby an wanting to be carried around everyone does not fly in this house and she seems to forget that! Not much I can do about it other than discipline when she’s with us, but man is that exhausting.

Chloe has been a handful as well. I don’t know, she super independent and if you get in her way a fit ensues.. As well as hard headed and if you tell her no she keeps on. I’ve had to start disciplining and it breaks my heart but I know it needs to be done…

We had a good weekend though, saw all my in laws, died eggs, hunted eggs, went to church, saw the croods (which was rather good) and did not relax at all!!!

Hope everyone else’s was just as great!

I’m not going to lie… I cannot contain my excitement for it to be 230 today!

I was going to not go, but decided that firsts only happen once…. So I’m skipping out of work early to go to Chloe’s school to be there for her first real Easter egg hunt and first school party! She is finally big enough to be in a class where they do stuff and I’m not missing out…

Fire me if you want, I’m watching my kid hunt for Easter eggs today!!!

So mike and I went on a date on Saturday night since our anniversary was last Tuesday! It was great to get out of the movie and see this text message! My cousins live about 20 min-1 1/2 hours away (depending on Atlanta traffic) and they watched her for us! I was kind of nervous because although I leave her at daycare daily and I’ve gone on dates with mike, usually she’s with my mother in law or my parents or she is at least watched by my cousins in my house. Taking her to someone else house was a little twist but went well!! Thanks again guys, it was much appreciated!
